Travis Bowen, D.O. is a non-surgical and regenerative sports medicine specialist. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and non-operative Sports Medicine. As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Bowen focuses on providing healthcare for athletes and physically active individuals.This includes non-operative care such as diagnosis of injury, injury rehabilitation, manual treatment techniques and orthobiologics. He also cares for sports concussions, nonsurgical fractures, arthritis, tendinitis, and other medical and musculoskelatal ailments.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Bowen is a graduate of the University of Mobile where he played college baseball. He then attended the Alabama College of Osteophatic Medicine for medical school. Dr. Bowen completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Murfreesburo, Tenn. In residency he was awarded the 2021 Resident Teacher Award by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of South Alabama. In training and practice, he has served as a team physician for several high schools and colleges, including Springhill College and the University of South Alabama. He is well-versed in the management of common health issues and injury as they relate to the Sports enthusiast.
Dr. Bowen enjoys spending time outdoor hunting, fishing, and motorcycle riding. Dr. Bowen is married to his wife Heather, also a native of Mobile. They have two dogs, Penny and Winston.
