Arm and Wrist Fractures

Serving the Gulf Coast Region with locations in Mobile and Baldwin Counties

Upper extremity fractures can run the gamut from simple to shattered. A general orthopedist can handle many of the simple fractures, however none have the level of training and experience as a trauma specialist.

For most patients, the right approach and implant choice can allow for near immediate motion and in some cases weight bearing. Our trauma team works closely with therapists specialized in upper extremity rehab so that no time is wasted starting the rehabilitation process. This allows the earliest return to daily activities and helps to prevent the most common complication in these injuries which is stiffness.

Dr. Lane is very knowledgeable and helpful. He has always taken the utmost care of my athletes, as well as my family. He is great at explaining things in way that is easy to understand.

Fortunately, not every upper extremity fracture requires an operation. Our trauma specialist treats every person with individualized care tailored to their injury as well as their function and life goals. We are able to offer many advanced nonsurgical options that improve functionality from day one while sparing the need for operative intervention when it’s found to be appropriate through a shared patient decision making process.

Your Arm and Wrist Fractures procedure will be performed at one of Gulf Orthopaedics surgery center locations: Springhill Medical Center, Springhill Outpatient Surgery Center (GCSP), and Mobile Infirmary Hospital.
